Holiday Art Projects for Kids

Here is a very simple Day of the Dead project. Fourth graders designed calaveras inspired by the folk art traditions surrounding the Mexican celebration.

Earth Day 2013 is Mon., April 22. These Earth Day "Handprint Globes" glued on black construction paper, along with students' creative writing assignments would make a visually stunning Earth Day bulletin board display.

Fun and easy Easter Egg Craft for Kids! Just grab some paper and glue!

I would have the kids paint a paper yellow for the texture, before collaging it for the chick. I do like using the feathers too. It would be good for teaching the difference between simulated and actual texture.

Cute Easter craft! Spread some white paint all over your kids hand except for the thumb. Stamp their hand on a colored piece of paper. Let it dry and paint the ears, nose and eyes.

What you’ll need: A tray, shaving cream, construction paper, acrylic paints, a squeegee, (something to swirl the paint) How to make it: Grab a tray and squirt enough shaving cream to cover the smooth surface. Next, squirt acrylic paint onto the shaving cream Make a zigzag shape through the paint to produce a marble effect. Using construction paper, cut out egg shapes and press the paper into the paint/shaving cream. Using a squeegee, gently smooth the shaving cream off the paper, and dry.
