Choice boards are a wonderful way to offer students a "choice" in their work, as well as to differentiate instruction. These choice boards have been designed to go along with the Macmillan/McGraw-Hill Treasures reading series. Each week, students may choose from nine activities, each one designed based on the skills and concepts being presented that week. Activities include phonics/spelling, vocabulary, high frequency words, comprehension, writing, study skills, and cross curricular activities.

Make Metamorphic and Sedimentary Rock Using Candy! Would be great for the rockhound science unit. (Buy an extra pack so kids can have a treat when they're done...without the germs,)

Wear an old sock over your shoe. Go for a nature walk. Remove sock, spritz with water & put into a ziploc bag. Hang the bag in a window for 2 weeks....watch what GROWS! Very cool! Also check out Mrs. Drake's webpage for science resources. It's a GOLDMINE!
