If you're looking for a great photojournalist, check out Jay Westcott. He's one of the best I've ever worked with, creative and hard-working. And he's available, which is Politico's mistake: www.jaywestcott.c...

One of the best stories of my career was the story of the lives of the four people in this Pulitzer Prize-winning photo by Earle "Buddy" Bunker: Bob and Dorothy Moore, their daughter Nancy and their nephew Michael Croxdale.

This was our double-truck front page on June 13, 2008, my third edition as editor of the Cedar Rapids Gazette. Rae Riebe designed it. Liz Martin shot the photo. Michelle Wiese had the idea of doing a double-truck front page.

Jason Plotkin shot some great photos for "Finding Their Way Out," a project by the York Daily Record on the lasting impact of school violence. I blogged about it: stevebuttry.wordp... I couldn't pin the interactive version, but I recommend it:

Great work by photojournalist Jason Plotkin of the York Daily Record on this project.

One more from Courtney Sargent.

This is part of a ghost-town project done by a former photo intern when I was in Cedar Rapids, Courtney Sargent, now a wedding photographer in Arizona.
