Places I've been
Hoping to see a bunch of these soon in Australia!
Albuquerque, New Mexico. My husband took us here on our road trip. He lived here until age 14. He showed us the childhood home he helped build, introduced us to sopapillas, told us how he lit luminarias at the holidays, introduced is to his childhood neighbors who live in an adobe house and told us how he sold cinnamon rolls at the hot air balloon festival.
Vast, magnificent and inarguably beautiful, the Grand Canyon is easily Arizona’s most distinguishable landmark – and a natural wonder that you simply have to see to believe. Stretching 277 miles from end to end, steep, rocky walls descend more than a mile to the canyon’s floor, where the wild Colorado River traces a swift course southwest.
Sixth Street. Bars, shops, restaurants and did we mention bars? After all, this is a college town. 6th street consists of bar after bar after bar, sprinkled with street food vendors, cultural education, bike cabs and live music to boot. This place is so popular when classes are in session that the city actually closes the street down Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights to account for the pedestrians spilling into the streets.
