Great Food Blogs

The way that food looks is almost as important as the way it tastes - as an editor and writer I find that some publishers, particularly when printing collections of recipes, make the food look pretty unappetizing. Blogs are beginning to change that! So I thought it would be nice to pick out some of the good food blogs for all of us to enjoy. Please visit as often as you like and add your favourites. Brownie Butter Cake - thick brownie and rich butter cake combined into one decadent and to-die-for cake! It looks delicious and oh so moist, what a treat! :)

Pumpkin Poppers. :Yum! These are like mini donuts, so you can eat them for dessert or breakfast. Perfect fall treat. So good! Only thing I would change is to use 1/2 stick of butter and quarter the sugar mixture for the coating. I had a lot of extra.

"Don't let some of the ingredients fool you--this spicy shrimp makes a simple, impressive dish, which I usually make for company. For more or less heat, adjust amount of red pepper. Serve over hot steamed rice."

Apple Caramel Cheesecake Bars Recipe from Taste of Home -- shared by Katherine White of Clemmons, North Carolina

"This roasted potato side dish, made with less olive oil and more fresh herbs than the original recipe, is a healthy hit with everyone."

Football Scotcheroos ~ Festive treats for the big game! Ooey, Gooey Scotcheroos covered in chocolate!

"This is a fast vegan smoothie with a deep pink color and a rich, creamy texture. VERY filling, and perfect for people in a rush in the morning. You don't have to give up a good breakfast when it's this fast to make! I use vitamin fortified soy milk."

The Amazing Amish Cinnamon Bread - No kneading, you just mix it up and bake it! It was so moist but I especially liked the crunchy topping. I came downstairs this morning to find my youngest with an entire loaf infront of him:) I will definitely be making this again....

Baked Pumpkin Spice Donut Holes - Technically, these are miniature muffins but after rolling them in the buttery cinnamon sugar mixture, they magically turn into cakey, sugary donut holes..

Caramelized Baked Chicken Legs/Wings | Yummy caramelized legs, kids love these! So quick and easy and no marinating required.

Gooey Butter Cookies - It’s quick, easy and the kids love them.. If you’re looking for a quick cookie recipe that will be a hit – this is your treat! :)

Carrabba's Bread Dipping Spice | This is a favorite with Italian-style grub. The recipe comes from Carrabba's Restaurant.

"Whenever you make these cookies for someone, be sure to bring along several copies of the recipe! You will be asked for it, I promise! NOTE: I make icing with confectioners' sugar and milk. I make it fairly thin, as I 'paint' the icing on the cookies with a pastry brush. Thin enough to spread easily but not so thin that it just makes your cookies wet and runs off."

"These cookies are the pinnacle of perfection! If you want a big, fat, chewy cookie like the kind you see at bakeries and specialty shops, then these are the cookies for you!"

"Everybody wants this recipe when I take them in for a carry-in,You can use any flavor pudding you like for this recipe."

Windy City Crescent Rolls | Served warm and gooey and stuffed with feta and spinach, it’s hard to eat just one,

German Chocolate Pecan Pie Bars - These are, without a doubt, the best pecan pie bars I’ve ever made. I am usually reluctant to throw out such accolades, but it is completely appropriate in this case. If you are a fan of German chocolate cake, then I think you’ll love them, too. If you don’t like coconut, you can just leave that out and add more pecans or maybe some chocolate chips..
