I have not traveled far... but when you live in California... you are truly blessed!
17 Mile Drive...the closest I have ever felt to heaven on earth. Around each bend, another scene that touches the senses. I can still smell the ocean and hear the surf crashing against the rocks off shore. You cannot experience the beauty without understanding and knowing there is a God and being grateful for his creation. A Plethora of Postcards: Balboa Island used to be an "everyman" sort of place: tiny houses for rent on a weekly or monthly basis, wet beach towels hanging from porches, Balboa bars...Now, like most places in or near the Pacific Ocean, houses that sit empty much of the time & big powerful boats screaming "Look at me!" Judging from the beach chairs, this picture is probably from the 1960s. beach chairs, beaches, memori, beach resorts, 1960s, islands, boat, place, balboa island

A stunning view of our beautiful Golden Gate. My great-great-grandmother lived at Fort Point Light Station (which you can see under the near abutment of the bridge), with her son (a lighthouse keeper) and his family, before the bridge was built. beaches, ocean beach, san francisco california, golden gate bridge, sunset, the bridge, fine art photography, sculptur water, natur beauti
