Stay Awake! Don't get too comfortable. Don't get lulled by the monotonous routine of everyday life - you don't want to be unprepared when Jesus comes back to gather his elect. 2 Peter 3:9 "The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance." Use the time God has mercifully and patiently given us to live Godly lives actively.
John 3:30 "He must increase, but I must decrease." It is an amazing gift what our Father in Heaven has done for us through his son. But sometimes, being selfish and egotistical beings, it is so easy to shift the focus onto us. eg I'M so loved by God, He has done this for ME, etc... We should be into HIM and HIS amazingness. Let us be more selfless and humble people, outward in our love for God and others.
The more we read our Bible, the more we understand God's character, and the more we will actively obey him and want to please him out of our assurance and conviction. Let all your everyday decisions, small and big, prioritise Gods will - for this is FAITH: action! James 2:17 "So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead."
1 Corinthians 12:12-27 "For just as ithe body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. For kin one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and all were made to drink of one Spirit.... Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it."
And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it. - Luke 9:23-24
