What a great idea on how to simplify for Christmas. Doesn't just have to be for kids. Could be for anyone in your gift-giving life.
Messiest thing Arthur has ever done. and he loved it! I just used paper; will do someday with canvas---Snowflake canvas art. Do a whole series of kid Christmas canvas art projects! Blue = snowflakes. Green = tree shape. Yellow = star. Red = wrapped present shape or ornament or holly. Kid art - just remove the masking tape when the paint dries (or before, works both ways).

Website where you take a picture of your tree, upload it, and pick a Santa to stick in your picture. Proof that Santa was at your house!
Start your bedtime routine as usual, make popcorn and hot chocolate drinks and place them in the car, don’t forget to have Christmas music playing too! When the kids climb into bed, they will find the ticket hidden. The kids are instructed to grab their slippers and head for the car. Upon entrance to The Mommy Express, we hole punch the ticket, and we travel around the city looking at all the beautiful lights.
