Old Smithy marriage anvil, Gretna Green - Gretna Green is a village in Scotland, where couples would elope to, because they could be married by hand fasting, and have it sealed by a Blacksmith. The Blacksmith would seal it by bringing his hammer down on the anvil. Also, being married in a forge would drive away the faeries, due to the cold iron.
THE NORNS - these are three goddesses of destiny or fate: SKULD "being" the future, VERDANDI "necessity" the present, and URD “fate” the past. They spent most of their time spinning the threads of like, deciding the fate of every human and every god. Whenever a child was born, the NORMS spun the fate of the child in their threads.
The Norns (too wiccan a vision for me. Rather look like feys)
