Expository Writing

Four square writing method for organizing paragraphs for the younger grades or essays for the older grades. Our special ed. teacher showed me this. I think I might try it to help my 4th graders to organize their persuasive essays.

Read this book to my class and had my students collect fallen leaves from their yard. They brought them in and created animals out of leaves. Afterwards, they wrote an expository writing about how they created their animal... also spoke about ecosystems and animal adaptations. Fun interdisplinary project!!!
