Rain. There are few words with such a calming and cleansing effect.
rain and cats. two of my favorite things.
=) So when I lived at Cinnamon Tree Apartments when I was at BYU, there was a small grassy knoll area in the middle of the part of the complex that I lived in. When it would rain, the knoll would start to get some puddles here and there, but then turn into a miniature swamp. One day, during the Fall season, while it was raining outside, my awesome roommate Kaisa and I decided to turn the swampy grassy knoll into our very own natural slip-and-slide. It was AWESOME. Crazy, but awesome. =) We ended up getting a few crazies to join us. =) Everyone else just came outside for the free entertainment. lol!
"The road is covered by jagged serrations of ice hard as iron. I pull aside the boot soles that are strapped to my feet. Underneath, my feet are streaked with cuts and dark abrasions. Thorns, branches and sharp ice graved their signs on me unknown, leaving behind a medley of runes written in some strange tongue." -- from the novel Sinful Folk http://sinfulfolk.com
