The structure has an unusual octagonal design, with several mini Family Trees throughout the home and log rafters unfolding like the ribs of a spiralling umbrella.

This is the second identical house Pioneer has built for this family on the same island. The first home burned down two years ago during the final stages of the construction process.

This gorgeous 11,500 square foot vacation-home is located on a private island near the English Channel.

The home is valued at $6-million.

This home has two master suites, four bunk rooms, seven baths, and panoramic views from its unique turret.

Planning for this dream home began in 2005, but permitting, construction and the fire delayed the project for more than eight years.

The island has no year-round residents and has no facilities or equipment. From a construction standpoint, this means the crane, forklifts, and generators had to be delivered by flat-bottomed landing craft.

Access to the island is only possible during high tide when there is enough water to cover the rocks approaching the pier.

It took 10 straight days to simply unload the 31 shipping containers with wood beams and building tools from Canada.

It took a month to finish the main part of the build and many more months to finish the details.

Every single log was carefully chosen for its colour and character.

There are no shortage of places to enjoy a view of the island's natural beauty.
