I hate housework. By that I mean I resent the hell out of it. But I LOVE a clean house. My version if housework: it gets to a point I can't stand, clean like mad and then get POed if anyone dares mess it up. It is not a healthy cycle. Maybe this would work better.

My neighbor's house always had the clearest windows EVER! One day I helped her with some spring-cleaning. She didn't use a single paper towel or commercial cleaner but mixed 2 cups hot water with ¼ cup vinegar & 1 TBS of cornstarch, shook in spray bottle & spritzed the windows, then wiped down w/ crumpled newspaper. Unlike paper or cloth towels, newspaper is absorbent without leaving lint behind. This homemade window wash solution w/ newspaper works like NOTHING else for PERFECTLY CLEAR windows!

Carpet Shampoo Solution: 1 cup oxiclean* 1 cup febreeze* 1 cup distilled white vinegar *The homemade versions work fabulously! Pour contents into shampooer tub and mix with hot water to fill tub completely. This will not only clean your carpets it will also deodorize. It will smell slightly of vinegar until the carpet is dry. Be sure to test spot with the solution just to be safe, however this should be safe for ALL carpets.

Heavy duty floor cleaner recipe… ONLY use this and it leaves floor spotless. (Heavy duty floor cleaner recipe: 1 cup white vinegar, 1 tablespoon liquid dish soap, 1 cup baking soda, 2 gallons tap water, very warm.) It leaves everything smelling amazing.

Speed Cleaning - I thought today I’d share my little “speed cleaning” routine. I probably spend, on average, about 45 minutes to an hour each morning making my house sparkle. This means I spend about 5-7 hours a week cleaning. That is still a significant amount of time!

use old washcloths or a scrap of fleece on your swiffer. spray floors with a mix of vinegar, water, and essential oil and clean away! hoping this leaves my floors less sticky than the swiffer refills!

Another pinner says: I just did this to my sink and it looks just as shiny as the picture. I didn't think my old, nicked up, stainless sink could look so good, but it does! How to make your stainless shine.

Magic Window Cleaner: No towel drying, no streaks, no spots! Fill an empty spray bottle with: 1 tablespoon liquid "Jet Dry" 3 tablespoons blue Dawn dish soap Fill to the top with water, shake. Spray your wet windows with the solution, scrub all over with a sponge, immediately wash off, that's it!

Easy Upholstery Stain Remover. 1 cup Dawn blue dish soap 1 cup white vinegar 1 cup club soda A heavy duty spray bottle A scrub brush.

Removing pet stains-I tried this last night on one of those repeat visit urine spots. It works! Somewhat ocd, I used a spray bottle for even vinegar coverage and my sifter for the baking soda. And, with larger dogs, I just put a piece of wax paper over the top. It only sat for a little over an hour and still pulled the stain right out!!

Use boiling water and two teabags to clean hardwood floors. The tannic acid in tea creates a beautiful shine for hardwood floors. Let two teabags steep in the boiling water for a few minutes. Pour the tea into a bucket. Take a soft cloth and wring it out in the tea. The cloth merely needs to be damp, not soaked. This will enable the floor to dry quickly. Wash the floor and be ready to be amazed by the sheen.

I started doing this and will never stop! My tub & shower are always spotless-so simple. Simple shower and tub cleaner: fill wand half and half. Wet surface and scrub. wow! leave in shower & wash while you are already in there
