A forum of handy ideas people wish they'd thought of before building.
@Charles Coe...this is cool...Concrete Countertop - Cast on a wood plank mold and stained to look like wood.
this is a piece of scrap wood soaked in a tea bath to get an older vintage look. ..two old rulers, screwed to the top and the bottom. they hold the paper in place but the bottom one also serves to tear a clean line. iron towel rack added the iron bar to the top. the paper roll is from lowes. its the paper in the paint isle.
By Atmoss, Sensualscaping Stairs. "The stair was entirely digitally fabricated using an intricate set of simply-cut but highly-detailed flat-pack elements, CNC-carving sheets of MDF and oak directly from our drawings, engraving depths to further split structural strands into ever-finer lineaments, producing elements that perfectly slot together like an architectural jigsaw." Is it cool? yes. Would I fall down this thing every time? Again, yes.
A friend posted this on my fb wall. Love it!
Chippendale balustrades, screened porch/room

DIY: Love Beer? Create A Bottle Cap Backsplash! This is a great idea, especially if you have a wet bar in your home (or for your kitchen if you're a true beer lover). Just adhere the caps like you would tiles and then grout and seal. The other plus is that you don't have to cut any tile which is often the most difficult part of a tile job.
