Situated on the Gulf of Botnia, Rauma is one of the oldest harbours in Finland. Built around a Franciscan monastery, where the mid-15th-century Holy Cross Church still stands, it is an outstanding example of an old Nordic city constructed in wood. Although ravaged by fire in the late 17th century, it has preserved its ancient vernacular architectural heritage.
ROVANIEMI, Finland - The most northern ski resort from the Finnish Lapland. With a few kilometers of ski slopes, this is still primarily a cross-country skiing destination. NORDIC fans will not hesitate to go to Rovaniemi, because the tracks and runs simply do not stop. With more than 100km of superb tracks spread over a diverse landscape, this is a winner for the cross-country skiing cracks.
