The building, by Olson Kundig Architects, is essentially a cast-in-place concrete box, meant to be a strong yet neutral background allowing for the space to be completely flexible. A steel mezzanine was constructed inside the concrete wall on the north side of the box. All internal structures were made with raw, hot-rolled steel sheets.
Attic are some of the most interesting parts of a building. It is the area where we are the closest to the sky. This often means some of the best views as well as the most intense heat in the building. They also offer a unique way for us to interact with the structure of the building, creating interesting forms and shapes that make for unique, more playful spaces.
