    That's something I definitely want to try, if I ever find decent figs anywhere! When we lived in Turkey, we could buy the biggest and best figs I had ever seen in my life. I miss that!

    I can imagine they were like pure candy delivered from mother nature, Moz (yum!). Do you have any Mediterranean or Middle Eastern markets/specialty shops in your area? They might be a good source during fig season, if you do.

    Thanks, honey, I tend to think so, too (though I don't have to avoid dairy, so if I can use it, I'm all for it). Kraft is not unfortunately EF, otherwise I'd be all-over it (ditto for Hidden Valley). I found this recipe http://www.adventuresofaglu... yesterday which I think will be the first vegan ranch one I try out.

    It does, as veganism means following a diet that is devoid of absolutely any ingredients that come from animals, which means no eggs, meat, seafood, dairy, honey, (animal derived) gelatine, etc. I think I'd use dairy buttermilk in that recipe though, since I'm not vegan/vegetarian and can have dairy. It sounds good - I hope it turns out to taste fairly similar to the leading store brought brands of ranch.
