Grandmom Harriett's Recipes
Mom Mom's Easy Mac and Cheese: Boil a16 oz bag of large elbows until tender. Drain. Dump into glass 9×13 dish. Take a stick of butter, cut into chunks and dot on top of pasta, salt, pepper add 2-3 cups shredded sharp cheddar (Mom Mom used any bits and ends of cheese she needed to use up), pour milk over the top until it comes about halfway up the sides of the pan. Stir well to combine. Bake at 350 until the top browns up nicely, about 45 minutes to an hour.

Pappy's Potato Soup - mom would add a cup of frozen peas with the potatoes
Old-Fashioned Potato Salad Recipe from Taste of Home Anyway, I grew up near Thomaston CT and there was this chicken place that had the BEST potato salad I have ever eaten. I've spent the past 20 years trying to duplicate it. It was called Faircrest Poultry and if anyone comes around that recipe, I would pay for it!
Old-Fashioned Apple Pandowdy, from Gourmet. At first glance, a pandowdy is as homey as it gets. But the reality - tender, lightly spiced fruit interspersed with pieces of pastry, some crisp, some softened with the fruit juices - tastes much more complex and satisfying than you might imagine. This particular version, apples sweetened with molasses, is traditional and absolutely delicious, especially with a cool splash of heavy cream.
Pennsylvania Dutch Fried Green Tomatoes (with flour)
Our FAVORITE breakfast casserole... A friend of mine passed this along to me 4 years ago... You can switch it up with bacon instead... In my house we do 1/2 casserole dish with 1/2 of the sausage it calls for and the other 1/2 of the dish with 1/2 of the amount of bacon. Huge hit at showers, brunches, or a meal that you deliver! (make the night before!) EASY
