First, a warning: This is very graphic and prob. has too many scenes of a violent sexual nature in it. It's not for many people. That being said, I found it a very good book, beyond that. My mother lived through WWII Poland and some of her friends lost their lives in the ghetto and camps. The tale of this unwed and pregnant woman being taken in by a Jewish baker-woman, of what they did to survive, and to help others, and the deft handling by author Jenna Blum. want to read.
