I my corner of Vermont, we have country fairs throughout the summer and fall months that often feature area quilters. There are some beautiful examples. If I go to any fairs with my family later this summer, I think I'll give in and buy a quilt for our bedroom. Using a vintage quilt from the 1940's, I cut out heart shaped designs and then embellished each one with Silk ribbon embroidery, dyed laces, charms, beads, sequins, and various tpes of threads. Very pretty & delicate, but more work than I would take on. However, wouldn't this picture make a challenging jigsaw puzzle!
