Wooden boards with wallpaper: take sandpaper to it, I would love this on any wood project. Table, bench, chair, picture frames, maybe even a floor that you would satin varnish over.

Remember this site for inexpensive rugs! Wish I knew about this months ago when I was in area rug hell.

GREAT IDEA!! FOR BACKYARD FUN, NO BUGS!! All you need is a package of Mason jars, some cotton string and some liquid citronella (find it in big jugs at any home-improvement store and even some grocery stores). Use a hammer and nail to poke a hole in the top of the lid, then pour in the citronella, put the top on and drop in the wick. Allow the string about 10 minutes to soak up some oil.

putting stone under the bar counter makes sense to minimize scuff marks when people are seated on stools around your breakfast bar...much better than painted wall...

Replace your curtain rods with swing arm rods to open up the room and allow more light in. Windows appear to be bigger than they are, too. LOVE THIS IDEA!

IKEA Hackers: Elegant and cheap selfmade canopy bed. - Could use this idea to put up outdoor curtains on the deck.
