My kids made the dryer balls pictured above, we actually spent two afternoons and made 6 of them! I try to keep 3 at any given time in the dryer (we just store them there), the other three float around the house as soft inside balls and for the dog to play fetch with. I just toss them in the hamper as I find them again, and run them through the washer and dryer again- any cycle- it doesn't matter.

Mix baking soda with TBS of fabric softener and spread on mattress every one or two months. Leave on an hour and vacuum off. Kills dust mites and freshens the mattress.
Once a month, add a cup of Distilled White Vinegar & 1 Cup of Baking Soda directly into the drum and use HOT water for washing. Then, I add about ½ cup of vinegar into the fabric softener compartment and ½ cup of baking soda into the detergent compartment. Set the wash on “Quick Wash” with HOT water and High Spin Cycle. If the mold situation is really bad,use bleach instead of vinegar and baking soda. But make sure you run a few empty cycles just with hot water before doing a load of wash.
