I created a dictionary of idioms for a student by printing out pages from this site
Pass out the words to the Grinch song and we listen to it on You Tube. Split students into random groups. Give the students about 10-15 minutes to find as many similes and metaphors in the song as they can. Use http://www.christmaslibrary.ca/grinch/song.htm They then write their similes and metaphors here to display in the hallway and classroom.
Similes & Metaphors lesson from the Grinch.
