A recent newspaper article about "The Indian Head", South Carolina's Ancient Meeting Place, revealed that The Indian Head is located at the Big Pond Branch settlement and in a larger geographical area known as THE CONGAREE CONE which spans between the Congaree and Edisto rivers.

Six Hampden-Sydney men spent Spring Break 2010 on a mission trip working with the Edisto Indian Tribe in Ridgeville, South Carolina. The men went down there to help repair the community center (the building in front of which they were standing) and do other jobs.   H-SC Trip Participants: Matt Boschen '13, Justin Gordon '13, David Barrett '13, John Murray '12, Adam Lees '11, Nay Min Oo '12.
