Barefoot Contessa Hummus--I have yet to find a hummus recipe that turned out good. I'm wondering if the cheapo Kroger tahini I bought was the problem.anyone else have a good/bad experience making hummus?
hummus spinach dip: This Was AWESOME! Maybe better than regular spinach dip! I used a container of Sabra traditional store bought hummus. I also tossed in about a can (drained) of artichoke hearts in with food processor with the spinach.
Hummus Recipe: 2 cans garbanzo beans (chickpeas), drained, ½ cup tahini ½ cup extra virgin olive oil juice of two lemons ½ bunch cilantro ½ cucumber, peeled and cubed a dash of pickle juice 1 tsp. garlic powder ½ tsp salt and paprika
*I tried it and will do it again!* Caprese Dip: fresh mozzarella (cut into cubes), one pkg cherry tomatoes (cut in half), handful fresh basil (slice into strips). Bake at 350 degrees until melted and bubbly. Serve with french bread.
Guacamole Salsa: Roast the tomatillos and peppers under the broiler for minutes to release the flavors. Also, the comments mentioned that the recipe needs a little lime juice in it. Lime juice really does add an authentic Mexican flavor!
