Michigan's Mackinaw Bridge ice snow winter Jan 19th, 2012; the Longest Suspension Bridge in the World; Crosses Lake Superior to Michigans Upper Penninsula....and "Superior Never Gives Up Her Dead"
Mackinac Bridge links Michigan's lower peninsula to its upper peninsula, crossing over two of the "Great Lakes": Lake Michigan and Lake Huron. It is the third longest suspension bridge in the world, at 5 miles long. The first Monday in September, known as Labor Day, pedestrians are granted permission to walk the entire length of the bridge. People come from great distances to participate in this annual trek.
Mackinaw Bridge, Michigan Not even close to bad. I remember only once being scared crossing the Big Mac, and they closed the bridge right after I got off.
The Snow Covered Mackinac Bridge. Absolutely my favorite place on earth!
