PFC Lori Piestewa. Piestewa was the first Native American woman in history to die in combat while serving with the U.S. military and the first woman in the U.S. armed forces killed in the 2003 invasion of Iraq. Arizona's Piestewa Peak is named in her honor.


The only woman buried in the Special Forces cemetery at Fort Bragg, NC. Martha Raye, Special Lady to Special Forces ... you'd have to have been there! Heroine! All American! Hollywood needs to grow another precious lady like this. Oh - I forgot we're in living in 2012 and the film industry wants to make money not heroines! What was I thinkin' ?
