Some pieces from the Art Institute of Chicago's wonderful quilt collection were on display in the textile galleries a few months ago. Click here to visit my blog and see photos of most of them. I had the best time ever, even went twice! http://annquiltsblog.blogspot.com/2018/06/quilts-at-art-institute-of-chicago.html

I love the interplay and rhythm created in this two-block quilt. I also find the color palette very pleasing. All in all, it's a quilt I really enjoyed having around while I was repairing it. See more pix and some of the how-to on my blog. http://annquiltsblog.blogspot.com/2018/05/spools-and-sawtooth.html

I recently repaired a sweet 1920s beaded purse for my friend's Etsy shop. Not only did I get to handle and examine this beautiful little object, but I had lots of fun figuring out how to make and attach a new lining. http://annquiltsblog.blogspot.com/2018/05/vintage-1920s-beaded-purse.html

Signature, fundraiser quilt made in Kalona, Iowa, in 1910. Surprisingly, the three people named Flexner have added a whole new branch to my knowledge of my family tree! The blog post tells the whole story of how the quilt and I met and how the research progressed. http://annquiltsblog.blogspot.com/2018/04/family-names-on-signature-quilt.html
