Braun & Steidl Architects : Built in approximately the house was the home of the Resident Engineer of The Northern Division of the Ohio & Erie Canal. It is believed to be the only High Federal Style building remaining in Akron.
Braun & Steidl Architects : The exterior and interior restoration were completed in a manner consistent with construction technology of the period, and returns the property to a point in time when the canal was significant to the growth of Northeast Ohio. Character defining features were preserved and modern improvements introduced, allowing the building to return to productive use. In addition, previous non-historic modifications were demolished.
