Here I am in 2011, presenting my first bill as a legislator. HB1280, which later became Act 279, amended provisions of the Arkansas Surface Coal Mining and Reclamation Act of 1979 to ensure that our state is ready and able to safely reclaim abandoned and unsafe mining lands. The bill passed out of the House that day by a vote of 82-1.
