Our Cohort had a seminar about multiculturalism in the classroom, and one of the guest speakers told us about this amazing project she does in her classroom about immigration and heritage. This project allows students to research and present something that is personally relevant to their lives.
This resource has a ton of great worksheet games or activities that will increase my students map skills. I would use these as independent practice or a group activity after teaching them the different parts of a map.
Once arriving at your time period of choice, choose from the explorers, ships, or tools presented on the page to learn more. Entries provide background information about the subject and often additional images and/or videos. Choose the Voyage Map and examine the routes the explorers took on an interactive map.
