We have a lot to learn from Hunter, who recently lost an arm in a shark attack: "So I kind of have two options -- I can try to live my life the way I was and make an effort to do that even though I don't have an arm or I can kind of just let this be completely debilitating," he said. "Out of those two, there's really only one that I would choose to do and that's to try and fight and live a normal life with the cards I've been dealt," he said.

I’m a husband, father, pastor and writer. And I have one hand. I was born in 1977, missing my left forearm. For 34 years I’ve been doing things one-handed. Everything, actually. My aim in life is to help people realize they are valuable. They are lovable. They are important. Hopefully my story, my life, will help you to find and live yours. Ryan

(Stroke) The diving bell and the butterfly. After 20 days in a coma, Bauby awoke into a body which had all but stopped working: only his left eye functioned, allowing him to see and, by blinking it, to make clear that his mind was unimpaired. Almost miraculously, he was soon able to express himself in the richest detail: dictating a word at a time, blinking to select each letter as the alphabet was recited to him slowly, over and over again. In the same way, he was able eventually to compose this extraordinary book.

"Not only was I exiled, paralyzed, mute, half deaf, deprived of all pleasures & reduced to the existence of a jellyfish, but I was also horrible to behold. There comes a time when the heaping up of calamities brings on uncontrollable nervous laughter - when, after a final blow from fate, we decide to treat it all as a joke." Awesome movie = "Soul Surfer!" Inspired by true story of Bethany Hamilton. At 13, she lost her left arm in a shark attack.
A guy can have a girl hero - right? Bethany Meilani Hamilton of Kauai was a serious professional surfer as a young 13 year old gal with 2 title wins. She survived a 2003 tiger shark attack at Tunnels Beach at the age of 13. Her left arm was bitten off at the shoulder. In less than a month after the incident, she returned to her board and professional surfing. Since the attack, she has added 3 title wins and a total of 10 Top 5 finishes to her record. #bethanyhamilton
Bethany Hamilton. At the age of 13, she survived a shark attack in which she lost her left arm. I am happy for her. I know a man who lost his arm at the age of 14, grew up, married, emigrated from Scotland to the US, raised 3 incredible sons, while usually working 2-3 jobs, most of them as property/ groundskeeper on estates. With the one arm. Good luck, Bethany, with your surfboard.

Aaron “Wheelz” Fotheringham is a 20 year-old wheelchair moto-cross athlete from Las Vegas, Nevada. Aaron was born with Spina Bifida, a birth defect of the spinal cord, which resulted in him having no usage of his legs.
We think that a disability can stop us from trying and doing new things but Aaron Fotheringham an 18 year old boy diagnosed with Spina bifida proved everybody wrong. By skating not with a skateboard or a BMX bike but with his wheelchair.
So this guy lives his life in a wheelchair, AND he's a professional BMX rider... Inspiring.
