Here are a few that I think you should know.... ➡️ You don’t have to be induced. You can go past 40 weeks. ➡️ No you don’t have to have pitocin to get things going. Movement is better than pitocin. ➡️ No you don’t have to be in lathotomy position to give birth. Yes you can push how you want. ➡️ You don’t have to have a cesarean just because you have a big baby. Learn your rights when it comes to birth, because just because there is a hospital policy, doesn’t mean it’s law.

A topic that I’m very passionate about is that whoever is in your birth space, is your choice! For me, this means that every woman has the right to decide who they want present during their birth. This includes everything from family and friends to midwives and doctors. And yes, this also includes your mother in law! Your birth space should be a safe haven and the people who are present should make sure that this environment is maintained.

I’m in tears right now, I’m so happy. LNM’s team doula and community manager, Taylor (@todaysmoderndoula) just announced her pregnancy!!!
