Dinner dress (front view) | Attributed to Callot Soeurs (French, active 1895-1937) | Materials: silk, beads, linen, metal | France, circa 1908 | The materials used in this gown from 1906-1910 enliven a conventional silhouette. The overall design and varying scale of the embroidery parallels the shape of the dress, and the use of lace, in particular the charming animal and bird motif lace of the sleeves | The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York

Winged Victory in the Louvre - Paris, France
The grand approach to Winged Victory in The Louvre, Paris. It's amazing how the approach adds to the beauty of this sculpture... my favorite.
Daru Staircase. Leads to the Winged Victory of Samothrace statue.
Nike of Samathrace - one of my favorite places to be, Louvre, in front of one of my favorite works of art...
The Winged Victory of Samothrace (2nd century b.c.e.) This gorgeous statue, also called the Nike of Samothrace, is currently located in the Louvre in Paris. It is one of the iconic artworks of that museum, standing at the top of one of the main staircases.

At The Met in NYC: Photographic Treasures from the Collection of Alfred Stieglitz, October 11, 2011 – February 26, 2012. A towering figure in early twentieth-century photography, Alfred Stieglitz was not only a master of the medium, but also a powerful tastemaker and tireless advocate for photography as a fine art in the early 1900s. Through his sumptuous and influential journal Camera Work (1902–1917) and his "Little Galleries of the Photo-Secession" (1905–1917), known to insiders simply as "291" for its address on Fifth Avenue, Stieglitz introduced the public to the best of artistic photography and, eventually, modern art. He was also his gallery's best client, supporting the artists he most admired by purchasing their work. Stieglitz's photography collection, donated to the Metropolitan by gift in 1933 and bequest following his death in 1946, constitutes the finest gathering of Photo-Secession works anywhere.

Painted in mystery and textured with intrigue, the caves of the CITY MUSEUM offer explorers of all ages an opportunity to walk, climb and crawl through the mind of a master artist. Built within a historic shoe factory’s spiral conveyor tunnel system, with branches burrowing down into the earth and towering 135′ into the surreal industrial space.

The Caves at the City Museum in St. Louis, Missouri. Usually these are pitch black, SO much fun. I LOVED the City Museum
One part of the caves in City Museum in St. Louis. One of my favorite places in the world, this interactive (for adults and kids) playground (both inside and out) is spectacular and stimulating and is exactly the kind of art I am most enamored with in this world.

Pictures can't capture the City Museum. It is my favorite place in St. Louis, one of my favorite in the whole world. There is also a bar and a cafe inside, and on the weekends there is often music. Not to be missed, NO EXCUSES!
