How to keep your fridge smelling fresh, and tips for getting and keeping the funk out for good! Speaking of baking soda…Once you’ve gotten the stink out of your fridge, a great way to keep it fresh is by keeping a bowl of baking soda uncovered hidden on a shelf (I keep mine on the door). I go the extra step of adding a few drops of lemon essential oil to it, and it’s like a fresh but subtle breeze of lemon hitting you in the face every time the fridge gets opened. I love it!

Magic Homemade Jewelry Cleane
Magic Homemade Jewelry Cleaner 1. Line a glass bowl with aluminum foil, shiny side facing outward. 2. Place the jewelry you want to clean in the bowl making sure it's touching the foil. 3. Cover the jewelry with baking soda - just enough so that you can't see it. 4. Add boiling water - enough to immerse the jewelry. 5. Let soak for 3 to 5 minutes ( or less if it's not really dirty). 6. Use tongs or a fork to lift out the jewelry ( you don't want to get burned) and rise under cold water. And voila! You've got sparkling jewelry!
This is from a blog classy clutter!! I need to try this! Okay... so I was unpacking and going through some of my jewelry ... AND.... I found that all of my inexpensive jewelry that has been sitting in my jewelry box was tarnished and yucky and dirty! I forgot I even had some of it! So... I began a search for some kind of homemade jewelry cleaner so I didn't have to go buy some! I stumbled upon this jewelry cleaner recipe using only boiling water and baking soda so I thought WTH I'll try it.... AND.... It was like magic! Even my yucky, tarnished CTR ring that I LOVE was Sparkly clean and looked brand new! It made me very happy so I thought I'd share my find! Here's the recipe below! 1. If the jewelry is very dirty or very tarnished - like silver or gold - then you may need to repeat the process so just add a little more baking soda and more boiling water - but make sure it's boiling, that's key! You can also use a toothbrush to get in all the nooks and crannies of detailed jewelry. This method works great on sterling, silver, gold, costume jewelry metals.. But do be careful if you're got a lot crystals glued into a setting and limit soaking to no more than 90 seconds - or you might melt the glue. Also, don't immerse natural pearls in this solution - it's too caustic. It is however, fine for most gemstones and works wonders on cubic zirconia! And in case you're wondering ....it also works fab for cleaning silverware, silver frames or any silver home decor!
Easy Homemade Jewelry Cleaner - I just did this with my engagement ring and it is super shiny! READ THE COMMENTS. Several people mentioned that this should not be used on natural emeralds, pearls, or opals. There are also notes regarding small stones glued into settings.

Do not add detergent, fabric softener, or any other products at this time. Source: rd.com27 Pour a packet of lemonade Kool-Aid into the detergent cup of your dishwasher. It'll remove lime deposits and iron stains.Source: realsimple.com28 Know your uses for vinegar and natural cleaning agents. If you're paranoid about chemicals (many OCDers are), white vinegar is an ideal alternative. It kills 99% of bacterias, 82% of molds and more than 80% of viruses. You can use it with tea tree oil, hydrogen peroxide, or baking soda to increase its antibacterial effectiveness. However, hydrogen peroxide and vinegar should be applied separately, not mixed together. Also, don't use vinegar in your microwave or oven — your kitchen will smell like vinegar for days when using those appliances. And never mix bleach with vinegar in hopes of amplifying the cleaning power — it creates a dangerous chemical reaction.Source: blogs.babycenter.comCream of tartar is another natural cleaning agent. Get more tips on how to use cream of tartar here.Source: razorfamilyfarms.comHere's an effective but natural recipe for Martha Stewart's Tub Scrub.Source: marthastewart.com29 Hang your brooms and mops instead of storing them on the floor. This keeps them from getting mildewed and bent.Source: marthastewart.com30 Start cleaning out your dryer vents. You'll prevent fires by cleaning out the dryer vent every six months. Get the full directions here.Source: prettyhandygirl.com31 Behold, the sanitizing vacuum cleaner. It's $120 from Verilux. They also sell a UV sanitizing wand that kills E. coli, dust mite eggs, and other germs and allergens.Source: amazon.com32 Use a Solution of 1/2 Coconut Oil and 1/2 Baking Soda to Remove Sticky Residues It's the non-chemical equivalent of Goo Gone.Source: rosybluhandmade.com33 The ultimate organization tip: anything and everything should have a place. This seems to be the #1 organization tip from OCDers: everything you own should have a place to be put away, and should always be put back to that place after use. Sounds simple, but it's a practice that takes getting used to if you're an inherently messy person.
