I've spent more time trying to get a good picture of this necklace than I did making it! And yes, this is the best I can do. My bead soup from my partner, Mowse Doyle, featuring her handmade polymer face crafted onto a seashell! Also includes her poly beads and roundels as well as other beads from her stash and mine.
Marianne Baxter sent me this amazing bead. I haven't done any beading in years (my thing is enameling), so it was a challenge to find the perfect way to highlight it. I had fun making the tassel of sterling silver chain. Thanks, Marianne.
My first thought was, "boy those red ceramic beads are big, what am I going to make with those?!" I thinking about making a choker style necklace and pulled out large nuggets of turquoise from my stash (can you tell I like turquoise from what I'd made so far?). Then I pulled out some mother of pearl arrows and pewter ovals. While I was moving bits and pieces around, I remembered I had a Mayan inspired pendant I'd received in another swap, and then my necklace was no longer a choker necklace.
