As Christmas will be with us any minute (I have no idea where this year has gone already!) I wanted to put together a list of educational Christmas activities that we will be doing this December. In December we tend to put away the core curriculum we have been working on, and instead focus on Christmas activities! Now, of course, I try to make these as educational as possible! These Christmas lessons are aimed at kids aged 9-14, but with help can be done with younger children.
We absolutely LOVE Christmas in this house, so much so we start decorating the house the weekend after Halloween. All of our birthdays fall between Thanksgiving and New Year so it is our favorite time of the year. I thought I would share our favorite Christmas countdown ideas that we have been doing over the years. The Christmas countdown has already started in this house! But it is never too late to start.
These printable scavenger hunt for Christmas clues are the perfect way to start the festivities this year. Simply print out the Christmas scavenger hunt clues, and hide them throughout your house. Then let your loved ones follow the clues to a gift or surprise at the end! Scavenger hunts should not just be for the Easter Bunny, why not enjoy this at Christmas time too.
The Elf on the Shelf is an important part of our festivities, even though Freddie is now 11. He might not believe they are real, but he certainly believes in the magic of Christmas. Our Elf on the Shelf, Twinkletoes, even makes an appearance at Halloween, as the Halloween Elf! What better way to have fun than with this Elf On The Shelf scavenger hunt!
Christmas will be here before we know it, so I wanted to put together a bucket list for Christmas that you can do together as a family. This is our first Christmas that Freddie knows Santa isn’t real (he was devastated, but we did manage to keep it going until he was 11, so I think we did really well!). So I wanted to create even more wonderful Christmas traditions that we can all do as a family this year. To keep it as super special as ever.
Get into the Christmas spirit with these 5 different Christmas spot the difference printables. What I especially love about these is that they are not too easy, or too hard. They are just perfect for older elementary kids (in fact we have enjoyed them in middle school too!). Not only are these spot the difference games you can also color them in too. Double the fun! These five pictures include Christmas presents, Santas sack, Christmas mittens, Christmas stocking, and Happy New Year

Christmas is our absolute favorite time of the year. Mainly as we put away our core curriculum and just spend time together learning about the holiday, and just doing Christmas-themed activities. Every day we also have Christmas read alouds.
We just love playing board games any time of the year, but these Christmas board games will definitely put you all in the Christmas spirit. You will for sure find the perfect game for your family. Christmas board games combine two of my favorite things, Christmas and FUN! I have listed them at the top of the post if you are in a Christmas rush. Further down the page I have detailed them into age, number of players, description and contents for you to decide which is the best for your family.

Christmas is our absolute favorite holiday, in fact, the whole month of December is. We have always had a Christmas Eve Box for Freddie, but why should he get all of the fun? So this year, I have decided to create a Christmas Eve Box for us! I will go through all of my Christmas Eve box ideas for adults in the hope they will inspire you to do the same!
Boys can be so hard to buy for and tweens and teenagers in my experience just grunt rather than actually articulate what they might want! So I got together Freddie with some of his friends and said if you could have 100 gifts what would you want! I did say that this was a wish list only (mainly as their moms were asking for ideas too!!!), but here are 100 Christmas gifts tween boys actually want!
