    RIGHT TO PLAY AND MLSE: TRANSFORMING LIVES THROUGH SPORT AND PLAY

    Youth to Youth students from Oasis Arts & Social Change Alternative School and Ogden Junior Public School joined artistic forces to ‘beautify’ Ogden. We're so proud to support Right To Play Canada's Youth To Youth Program that assists elementary students by enhancing their academic, athletic and life skills while at the same time providing an opportunity for mentoring students to reach the larger community and gain experience as leaders.

    Reid Kimmett, left, Leslie Erven and Martin Parnell were at last year’s Kimmett Cup at Mitford Pond in Cochrane. The fundraiser was held in honour of Kimmett’s older sister Lindsay, who played hockey and studied medicine at the University of Calgary. This year, the group will try to raise $ 100,000 for Right To Play while breaking a Guinness World Record!

    On December 8th & 9th, Ontario Minister Chris Bentley will join us on a visit to Attawapiskat and Fort Severn First Nation, taking part in our Hockey For Development Clinic and a Play Day. Follow the latest trip updates at www.twitter.com/...

    Right To Play Athlete Ambassador Mo Farah (Great Britain) had one of the most exciting finishes at the 2012 Summer Games- completing an 'Olympic Double' after winning both the 5,000m & 10,000m distance running events. Farah has visited Right To Play programs in Liberia.

    On July 24th, Right To Play hosted it's first Tribute Dinner in Canada- the organization honoured RBC's Gordon M. Nixon, and athletes Ernie Els, Steve Yzerman, Silken Laumann and Mike Weir for their contributions to improving the lives of children around the world.

    Jon "Canadian" Montgomery: A proud Canadian athlete (& Right To Play Athlete Ambassador), Jon reflects on how the Olympics changed our Country forever, sends his best to Canada's summer athletes and encourages Canadians to get behind their athletes in London 2012!

    In 2010, Martin Parnell successfully completed 250 marathons in 365 days to raise funds and increase awareness for Right To Play; 5 pairs of shoes, 750 litres of water, 1,375 hours, more than 12 million steps and 10,550 km later, Martin raised $ 320,000 for the organization.

    Hollywood greats, Producer Frank Marshall, Gary Cohen and Mike Tollin on location in Uganda while filming the ESPN documentary "Right To Play."

    University coaches across Canada participated in the "Go Shoeless" Day in support of Right To Play. 38 coaches from 28 universities participated, raising funds & awareness in honour of those children who do not have access to sport equipment & safe play spaces.

    Clara Hughes on a recent visit to Right To Play programs in Mali; on June 21st, 2012 Clara was named to Canada's Olympic Team (road cycling), making the London Games her 6th Olympics. She is the only athlete to win multiple medals at both the Summer and Winter Games.

    The NHLPA Goals & Dreams Fund has donated vital hockey equipment to our programs in Wapekeka First Nation (Ontario), allowing children and youth to take part in our Hockey for Development clinics.

    2012 marks the 6th Annual NXNE “Put The Boot In” Charity Soccer Match taking place on the the final day of NXNE (June 17). This full-field match pits “The Rockers” (musicians & associates) against “The Rollers” (a roundup of the deadliest selection of media ringers and a handful of hangers-on…) as the two sides vie for the Queen & Beaver Cup!

    The Mitsubishi City Chase Powered by GoodLife Fitness is one of Right To Play's strongest partners within Canada- Part urban obstacle course, part scavenger hunt, this year's Canadian Series will include qualifying events held in Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, and Halifax. City Chasers have raised over $ 520,000 since 2008 for the organization!

    Right To Play's specially designed programming and resources are created with a focus on inclusiveness.

    Through our sport and play-based programs in Zambia and other countries around the world, Right To Play mobilizes communities around health issues, helping to educate them on disease prevention priorities including HIV/AIDS.
