early 1920s America, ladies black velvet cloche. Made by the highly regarded milliners of the period "Irving" Detroit. A beautiful soft black velvet cloche with a down turned brim falling away at the sides in tradition twenties cloche style. The inner brim is trimmed with cream Alencon lace. A deep petrol blue velvet ribbon surrounds the crown and is tied in a bow at the front. This is a beautifully shaped cloche in superb wearable condition. It is nicely lined in black silk.
