who knew: pennies in the garden repel slugs and make hydrangeas blue! "Here’s a simple garden art project, that is wonderfully mindless. Use a strong glue to attach your surplus pennies to a thrift store bowling ball. It would be a great project to do with your kids on a rainy day. For the glue, my favorite is made by Amazing Goop, and I use the Home and Garden or Marine formula, because they are UV resistant as well as waterproof."
Penny Ball for the garden. Pennies in the garden repel slugs and make hydrangeas blue. I love this idea.using an old bowling ball, strong glue and pennies
REALLY COOL IDEA!!!! who knew: pennies in the garden repel slugs and make hydrangeas blue. Really?? Will have to try this! glue 1-2 layers of pennies on an old bowling ball with E-6000 craft glue. They tend to slide around a bit till the glue firms up, so work in small areas at a time, keeping the freshly glued area at the top to minimize sliding. Once you have an area securely glued, it will keep the newly glued areas from sliding.
I'm going to try this! Gardening Ideas / REALLY COOL IDEA!!!!z>> who knew: pennies in the garden repel slugs and make hydrangeas blue. I have the bowling ball out in the rock garden waiting for this.

Recycled Bike Wheel Garden Trellis for Sweet peas.
Bicycle Wheel Garden Trellis: For any climbing Garden Goodies, like legumes, peas, & berries (heavier fruits may need added support). The original DIY for this was in the now-defunct ReadyMade Magazine, but it's fairly simple doing. DESIGN: Two old tire rims; twine, & something for the middle to suspend the trellis (conduit, plumbing pipe, metal or wood stakes). If possible, try drilling a hole through the pipe & inserting a dowel, or threaded steel to make it sturdy.
