Writer's block isn't all about fear: there are structural issues at play. What many consider mindset often stems from deeply rooted capitalist, uniquely AMERICAN, views on art. Anti-art mythologies w/in American culture indicate creative work, such as prose, song, dance, & visual arts, must be commoditized in order to be worth one’s efforts. These make up a BIG part of why you feel it is necessary to make a living from your writing to in order be a “real writer.” But how can we combat this?
