An experiment in painting directly onto the (MDF) backing board of a store-bought frame. This is acrylic gouache, so I painted directly onto the MDF. This turned out to be a mistake, because the gouache had poor opacity (four coats on the hat and dress and still not opaque!). Next time I'll use white gesso first.
