Shadows are cast beneath the Brooklyn Bridge, seen from a stable roof, on May 6, 1918. Wow. . .postapocolyptic and otherworldly. The sheer weight and size of the bridge look so out of place (in a good way) at the top of the frame, the shadow is so cool. I like that the horses are walking out of the frame. Fantastic image!!

CITY HALL SUBWAY STATION | MANHATTAN | NEW YORK | USA: *New York City Subway* Deep under old New York, lies abandoned platforms, train tracks and entire train stations. Some, maybe glimpsed by passengers on some lines, others lay hidden behind doors or flights of stairs. The most startling, is the terminal which rests beneath City Hall Park, an opulent and beautiful show-piece, but deserted and largely forgotten since the 1940s
