Paris Engagement Photos don't always require an Eiffel Tower, right? Hey, nothing says Paris quite the way a typical romantic Parisian cafe does. So make sure to budget a little time as part of your couple's Paris photoshoot

Eiffel Tower Couple Pictures (how to get fun #parisengagement photos)
No backdrop is quite as iconic and instantly recognisable as the Eiffel Tower. Yet, it has been captured pretty much from every conceivable angle and time of the day. That means you and your photographer need to bring your A-game, celebrate and make things feel real. When you are having fun, the photo will follow and you will already be lightyears ahead of the more static photos we see all the time. Dress sharp, show up at sunrise, prepare well, and kiss!

Alexander III Engagement Photos (the most luxurious bride in Paris!)
So when you come to Paris for your engagement photos, there will likely be more locations than time commissioned. That means you will need to make some location choices. If you want to combine the iconic Eiffel Tower (who doesn't) with pure luxury and a more subtle vantage point, then the Alexander III Bridge is your ideal spot. Hey, and at night, the lanterns just look so romantic and so do the reflections from the Seine River. It is a MUST-PHOTOGRAPH spot for serious couples.

Eiffel Tower Photoshoot
No spot is quite as iconic as the Eiffel Tower ... and the most popular vantage point to photograph it is from Trocadero. Make sure to show up early (ideally a few minutes before sunrise) in order to beat the crowds, and be ready to hit the ground running with your Paris photographer. Now, Paris is all about style so make sure to put some thoughts in how you want to look in your photos. In general, style matters and elegant attire trumps casual wear. Celebrate and focus on each other.

Anniversary photos at the Louvre Museum Paris always look elegant. This photo was taken in the early evening shortly after sunset with an associate who held the light

Musée d'Orsay engagement photos (iconic clock!)
Musée d'Orsay engagement photos are incredibly rare since everything really needs to come together ... the right couple who is ok to invest into a few photos that take time to capture, wear dark attire, connect beautifully in silhouette, are willing to show up at the entrance right when the museum opens ... and, of course, be lucky to get a bright blue sky for perfect silhouette results.

Props for your Paris Engagement Photos (Giant Bubbles)
You don't always need an iconic backdrop such as the Eiffel Tower, Louvre, or Notre Dame when you come to Paris for your engagement photos. Quite the contrary. All you really need is to leave caution by the wayside and celebrate your relationship. We were lucky to stumble upon a street vendor near Notre Dame who created giant bubbles for us (at a cost of course). Just make sure your photographer is ready since the bubbles come and go fast and you really need to capture the excitement.

When you have your Paris engagement photos taken, there are typically more fabulous spots than you will have time. Obviously, there would be the iconic (i.e., Eiffel Tower, Louvre, Alexander III), the romantic (Alexander III, Montmartre, Parisian Cafe), and then there are also locations just made for impact where the focus shifts on you as a couple. It can be outdoors or indoors. The important difference is that there is camera awareness as a couple and the result is frameable.

Louvre Engagement Photos during the Blue Hour
Looking for fabulously romantic Blue Hour Paris engagement photos at the Louvre Museum? Well, you're not alone. Here's the deal. Hire a talented Paris photographer who does not use flash (only continuous light sources will achieve the desired results!), show up during the summer months, when the fountains are on, and wait until about 15-20 minutes after official sunset for the sky to turn increasingly blue and vivid. Enjoy!

Tuileries Gardens Romantic Paris Engagement Photos
The Tuileries Gardens is one of our favorite spots in all of Paris and looks fabulous at any time of the year. In fact, I prefer pretty much any season where the leaves are not just plain green. Either way, you will find a host of spectacular views, including the iconic facade of the Louvre Museum, the Musée d'Orsay, Seine River, Gardens, benches, ... Just keep in mind that the ground is quite treacherous for high heels and plan with some comfy shoes in between photos.

Trocadéro Eiffel Tower Photos: the most iconic Eiffel Tower photo spot (#eiffeltowerphotos)
Paris is blessed with more photo spots than you and your professional Paris photographer likely have time or energy for. With that said, there are a few spots—notably if the Eiffel Tower is on your priority list (and it should be!) that you just must consider for your Paris engagement photos (#ParisEngagement). The most popular vantage point of the Eiffel Tower is at Trocadéro. Just make sure to show up at sunrise (or even a few minutes before). Check out our site for more helpful tips!

The Louvre Museum has plenty of nearby spots where you can get photos that are complementary to the pyramid. We love the lanterns as in this photo. As you can see, the yellow pants and the red heels of her Louboutin pop beautifully. Dress accordingly.

The Best LOUVRE MUSEUM Photo Spots #parisengagement
So when you come to the City of Love to have your Paris engagement photos taken, one obvious stop is the Eiffel Tower. But there is more. Much more. One of our favorite places to have your engagement photos taken is the Louvre Museum. And it's not just about the pyramid. There are infinity arches, beautiful gates, columns, courtyards and much more. Then venture immediately outside the museum to the Tuileries, the Seine River, Cafes, and even Palais Royal #parisengagementphotos #couplepictures

An unforgettable night in Paris

Eiffel Tower couple pictures (Cherry Blossoms)
Paris is always a good idea. However, some times of the year are simply more beautiful than others. I am a big fan of Cherry Blossoms which were in full bloom in early and mid-April. Now, if you want the best possible photos, make sure to prepare well before you arrive in Paris, hire an experienced Paris photographer, dress sharp, connect blissfully with a focus on the experience and not on the end result (i.e. the photo). Show up early at sunrise for the most flattering light and fewest people

Eiffel Tower Engagement Photos (at sunrise!)
Well, that is actually my wife and me in the photo. Ha. Anyway, if you want to achieve something similar at Trocadéro, which offers some of the most iconic Eiffel Tower views, you need to show up as early as possible. As you can see, outfit choice—notably the bright yellow dress my wife is wearing—stands out really well.

Pont Neuf Engagement Photos (Bridge with Eiffel Tower views)
So if you are ok if truly subtle views of the Eiffel Tower ... you as a couple will be the focal point ... then Pont Neuf between Notre Dame and the Louvre is perfect for you. I recommend stopping there right before sunset and capturing the soft evening sun ... before heading to the Louvre Museum or Alexander III for your Blue Hour and nighttime Paris engagement photos. Just bring a pair of comfy shoes if you walk from Notre Dame.

Louvre Engagement Photos at night
So the Louvre Museum is the only spot in all of Paris that photographs amazingly at any time of the day or night during any season of the year. Of course, if you have the choice, go with sunrise for a soft flattering over-exposed look and fewer people. If you prefer a romantic Blue Sky, then sunset is for you. Either way, you will find more photo variety (think different photos) than anywhere else in Paris.

Paris Engagement Photos should above all be within character for you as a couple. Don't go for balloons unless that is actually something that you both love and that gets you energized. We found a random beautiful dog on the street and asked if we could use him for a few photos. It was amazing.

Paris Engagement at the Eiffel Tower (with oversized Balloons)
No structure in the universe is as iconic as the Eiffel Tower. And no place is as popular as Trocadero, which offers a fabulous vantage point of la grande dame. Yet, when you want photos that nobody else has, you need to show up right at sunrise with your A-game. Now, you have options in terms of outfits, poses, and props. It's up to you

Paris Engagement Photos with a more subtle perspective of the Eiffel Tower are easily achieved at the Bir-Hakeim Bridge. That spot always works even though you will be surrounded by cars on both sides. And if you do not want the Eiffel Tower (as in this photo), simply shoot along the Bridge instead of towards the Seine River where you have the Eiffel Tower. It will make for amazing photo variety.

Ballons as prop for your Paris Engagement photos
Hey, the Eiffel Tower has pretty much been captured from every conceivable angle at any time of the day and year. So for you to do better, you need to spice things up. First, be prepared to do things most people would not (and ask your Paris photographer to do the same!) and invest in balloons or other fabulous props. These balloons are about $1,000. Then show up early as to avoid the crowds and other couples/photographers. Finally, consider a few eye-catching poses, including an iconic lift.

Paris Engagement Photos at the Eiffel Tower at Trocadero are not as easy to get as they use to be. Today you will need to show up early (before sunrise) and ready to go. Consider wearing colors that pop, like the red in this photo. Then have fun.
