The Learning Tree: Weekly Homework + FREEBIE

*FREEBIE* This document was created to help my high school students plan for one and two week class projects or homework assignments. It is sometimes hard for my students to visualize past lunch, so this helps them to plan each night of the project out by what they will need to complete to finish the homework or project in time for the due date.

    Dragonflies in First: Homework Time

I was at a conference this summer that suggested I DO AWAY with homework passes…instead, replace them with a LATE Homework Pass. Consider this: What is the message you are sending to students when you tell them that it is occasionally okay if you don’t do the assigned homework? That it’s not meaningful! Makes sense to me, and I can also see where a late homework pass might be appreciated by students when they have a soccer game or a dance recital late into the evening hours… That is how these LATE Homework Passes came to be! Enjoy this freebie.

I use this menu with my students during word work time. We use Words Their Way for our spelling words. They always start with the word sort in their notebook and then throughout the week and for homework they are to choose an activity to complete in their notebooks.
