Breast ironing, or breast flattening, is the pounding massaging of a pubescent girl's breasts, using hard or heated objects, to try stop them from developing or disappear. Usually done by the girl's mom to protect her from sexual harassment and prevent early pregnancy. It's practiced in some areas in Cameroon where men believe girls with breasts are sexually mature. Pestles are most common but heated stones and hammers are also used. This illustrates a clear violation of human rights.
