"Nido" - A tiny cabin space by the Finnish designer Robin Falck. This tiny cabin is fully functional at just under 100 square feet out in the middle of the woods. This small space features a micro-kitchen and upper sleep/storage space.
Small house tiny home Designer Robin Falck has created his very own micro home that is small enough to be built without a permit in Finland.
Micro Cabin in Finland \\\ A DIY project with a tight budget and using mostly recycled materials, this tiny cabin was designed for use after serving in the military and the owner/designer managed to stick to Finland’s strict codes for small houses and cabins. A brilliant use of 146-square-feet of space.
tiny house - Finland has regulations that restrict cabins and small houses from being larger than 96-128 square feet if they are being built without a permit. Falck was able to build a 96-square-foot cabin with a 50-square-foot loft space that houses the bed and stores clothing. Using mostly recycled materials, the entire cabin was built for around $10,500 plus the labor. Amazing!

“Harmonic Convergence” installation at Miami International Airport - how colored glass can be used to inject colour to this walkway
Harmonic Convergence, the newest, large-scale art installation by artist, architect and composer Christopher Janney, is nearing completion at the Miami International Airport. Janney terms Harmonic Convergence “an abstraction of South Florida in color and sound.” The official dedication of Harmonic Convergence will take place in conjunction with Art Basel Miami Beach and Design Miami 2011.

Airports are fascinating places. Some are rather frightening and clinical, some are gleaming structures of great design. The latter category more than fits ‘Harmonic Convergence’ by Christopher Janney, a spectacular interactive sound, light and colour installation at the Miami International Airport.

The Interlace | OMA | Modern apartment complex utilizes passive solar techniques and rooftop gardens for sustainability
Office for Metropolitan Architecture OMA architects project residential Singapore 2009
Designed by ole scheeren, partner of OMA, the interlace adopts a new residential typology which breaks away from the standard isolated, vertical apartment towers of singapore. Thirty-one apartment blocks, each standing at six-storeys tall and identical in length, are stacked in a hexagonal arrangement to form eight large open and permeable courtyards. The stacked formations allow light and air to flow through the architecture and surrounding landscape.
OMA unveils design for The Interlace residential complex in Singapore. Ole Scheeren of OMA introduces a new residential typology to Singapore with The Interlace, a large-scale complex of interconnected apartment buildings stacked in an innovative hexagonal arrangement, developed by CapitaLand and Hotel Properties Limited. With about 170,000m2 of gross floor area, the development will provide 1,040 apartment units of varying sizes with extensive outdoor spaces and landscaping.

A new high rise is going up in Miami's design district, and its a lean, green, eco machine. A collaboration between Chad Oppenheim architecture + design, energy consultant Buro Happold, and structural engineer Ysreal Seinuk, the $40 million, 25-story, COR.
Rising some 400 feet above the Design District, COR is, in the words of Chad Oppenheim architecture + design, 'the first sustainable, mixed-use condominium in Miami'. This, while being quite a lofty proclamation, might not be far off the mark. An eye for economy makes this not just another high-tech building. Certainly not just another London 'Razor'.

Tham & Videgård Arkitekter’s treehouse-inspired hotel in the far north of Sweden, near the small village of Harads, close to the Arctic Circle. The shelter is a lightweight aluminium cube hung around a tree trunk, (4×4x4 meters) clad in mirrored glass. The exterior reflects the surroundings & sky. The interior is made of plywood. Windows give a 360 degree view. A transparent ultraviolet colour is laminated into the glass panes to prevent birds colliding with the reflective glass.

The Imam Mosque in Isfahan - Iran Featuring an architectural detail known as Muqarnas. Muqarnas is one of the most characteristic features of Islamic architecture and is used throughout most of the Muslim world (in North Africa a related system known as muqarbaras is also used). Muqarnas is usually associated with domes, doorways and niches, although it is often applied to other architectural features and is sometimes used as an ornamental band on a flat surface

It was built by the architect Léon Delune in 1904. He left his 'signature' on the house in a very unique way - his last name means 'of the moon,' in French, and he worked images of the different phases of the moon into the design. The big window at the top was originally designed so that there would be enough natural light for a painter's studio at the top of the building. It's located in Brussels, 6 Rue du Lac.
