      This is a great idea if you were needing to make hard boiled eggs but are in the middle of complex or lots of cooking that takes up your stovetop.

      I did this, and it didn't work well at all. The shells did not come off easier at all, even after being fully cooled. They tore the egg apart when I de-shelled them and actually had to toss them. Some were also overcooked and some undercooked. I'll stick to using the stovetop.

      I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter what cooking method you use. How easy it is to remove the shell depends on the freshness of the egg (less fresh usually = easy peel)
