Imagery: Light and Dark “Light thickens; and the crow/ Makes wing to the rooky wood:/ Good things of day begin to droop and drowse;/ Whiles night's black agents to their preys do rouse. Shakespeare uses light and dark imagery to foreshadow. He is suggesting that at dusk; light, which offers security and assurance, gives way to the black night where all immoral things occur. In this passage Shakespeare is suggesting that something bad is going to happen at night to Macbeth.
