1744 Catherine the Great's wedding dress (State Armory - Moskva Russia) | Grand Ladies

White became a standard for wedding dresses when Victoria married in 1840, but the color of this dress is startling. However, it should be borne in mind that age changes colors. The panniers make impressions in the dress. The dress may have had a lace bertha, engageantes, and possibly other lace trim, since removed.
